I did quite a bit of searching through the forum but couldnt find anything that closely resembled either of these.Anyone know what these are called/who used them?

The larger one is huge {relatively}, the grip is the biggest of any of my PI pieces.the ferrule and the pommel are copper on this one, which seemed a little unusual to me. 25.75in overall The small one is 16in overall, but the tip is snapped off,it has seen a lot of use/abuse.I read that some of these were used to split wood,by hammering on the spine of the knife with a rock, this seems applicable to this one, to me. Zelbone and Labantayo (and even Ian) could give you better ID for these. I know that they are from Luzon (like you mentioned in the title) and would venture a guess of Batangas based on the handles.

			Hello Justin,

The smaller knife seems too small to be routinely used for wood chopping/splitting IMHO. Regards, Kai |
