Good Evening everybody,
It's been a long time ago since my last post but I'm happy to be back here ! Let me introduce this nice little set of two knives, one of wood and the other one of steel. It's a recent find and I've still to try to understand the using of the wood one !?! If someone can explain it to me, it will be with pleasure ! Best regards, Clement |

They are Algerians, but why do you think they are khodmi?
![]() For the use, some say that they were barber knives, others say that they were butcher knives and some say that they were hunting knives trousse I let you choose what you prefer... ![]() The wooden one is not something usual. |

Hello Kubur,
I can be wrong by using the term "Khodmi/ Bou saadi" but this is for me the closest term that I can apply to this set, far from flyssa and Nimcha. I've previously seen a pair similar to this one, but with two steel knives, sold as a barber knives... but honestly even if the steel one is realy sharp I don't think it could be used as a barber tools. The wood one is really strange and I can't figure the use of this one ![]() |

I have seen wooden flyssa swords, I have seen wooden yataghans. People say that they were made for training or for children. Some say that they were just decorative. Frankly I don't know... ![]() |

The first thing I thought about was the ban on blades over a certain length by law.

Ren Ren, it could be another possibility !
To be honest I really have no idea about the meaning of the wooden one ! After all it could be only decorative... maybe we just have to accept this one as it is ! Just a wood knife ![]() |
