What a great and fascinating piece!
I love the pommel carving and the styles of the laminations. Rare but not unheard of. On my more recent Moro kris example, the lamination up top is similar but changes into another type down the blade. Thanks for posting this. |

Jose: It is a twist-core on one side, and a linnear pattern on the other side.
Blade is 23 inches long, 29 inches overall. I also have a barong with a random pattern and a linnear pattern. You can see where both plates were welded together. I wonder if there are more variations out there. Dave. |

I've seen different patterns on Indian sabres and I have a special one on a Keris but it is the first Moro example I have seen, thanks for posting. Gavin |

Hey Dave-
I faintly recall you mentioning a Barung with two different patterns on opposing sides. |

Very interesting example. The blade is superb, and like Battara I really like the hilt carving.
I am assuming this is two panels of steel forged together. Very unique and says a lot about the smith not to make a mess of it. Thanks for posting. |
