Origin of old 5 luk keris.

This keris is soon comming my way.
It comes from a pre WW 2 collection.
Any suggestions to its origin.

Madura has been suggested by the seller,
but the hit to me is Ceribon, and the wrangka reminds me of the ones i recently saw on Banjarmasin keris.

The sloping gandik makes me think Madura.

I saw this piece on a Dutch site but have no clear opinion about its origin except the hilt from North Coast Java. Is the blade original with the sheath or not?

Yes Jean, i thought that about the hilt as well, but it is certainly possible that these pieces came together at a later date. The nature of the blade still seems Madura to me, but obviously there are some other elements to consider as well.

I found out that the previous owner got it from his grandmother, she was born and lived in Surabaya till after WW2.

Hello Jean,

Although the fit is not bad, I think the blade and scabbard where made to fit.
The wrangka has a unusual repair with a different kind of
wood.
Also there is clearly some woodfiller used between wrangka and gandar.

Dear Willem,
I have still no clear idea since the warangka was repaired and may be modified but considering the style of the blade and history of the kris I would agree about the East Java/ Madura provenance.
