This keris is soon comming my way.
It comes from a pre WW 2 collection. Any suggestions to its origin. Madura has been suggested by the seller, but the hit to me is Ceribon, and the wrangka reminds me of the ones i recently saw on Banjarmasin keris. Open for comments... Best regards, Willem |

I saw this piece on a Dutch site but have no clear opinion about its origin except the hilt from North Coast Java. Is the blade original with the sheath or not?

Here some pictures of the blade. I found out that the previous owner got it from his grandmother, she was born and lived in Surabaya till after WW2. Best regards, Willem |

Although the fit is not bad, I think the blade and scabbard where made to fit. ![]() The wrangka has a unusual repair with a different kind of wood. Also there is clearly some woodfiller used between wrangka and gandar. Best regards, Willem Last edited by asomotif; 7th April 2013 at 11:17 AM. |
