3 Borneo spears for sale
I believe these three spears to be of Borneo origin. All the shafts and rattan show a nice patina so I think they have good age to them. Here are the details:
One is a spear gun. It measures 76 1/2" in total length and the blade at top is 6". The shaft is a black hardwood with the entire center channeled out bottom to top. A dart could be positioned and then shot from the shaft. The blade is recessed at the top, in other words it isn't fitted to the center of the pole but rather to the back of the pole and then wrapped in rattan. The rattan wrap is very nicely done. Nice old sumpitan. The second one has a most unusual spear head shape. It measures 85" in total length with a 7" leaf shaped blade. The blade is very thin with a wide leaf shape. There is nicely done rattan at the top and the shaft is a brownish wood that is gnarled its full length. A light weapon. The third one measures 81 1/2" in total length with a 7" blade. The blade is set at the back of the shaft and wrapped in rattan. The shaft is also a brown wood, a bit thicker than the leaf shaped blade, and also gnarled. Again, I would like to see these go as a group. Borneo spears are hard to come by and these are nice old ones. Please e-mail with any questions. Either PM or e-mail me at rsword007@aol.com. I am asking $1300 for the 3 spears. |

The first post had the 3 spears grouping and individual shots of the blowgun. Here are the other two spears.

I am open to offers on the group and I am also open to discussing individual pieces.
