this sword measures 76 cm long, 62 cm blade, 3 cm wide
the handle is made of metal

you know the origin of this sword

I am not expert for Asia, but let me try and let´s see what experienced will say. So I would guess (except of upper mounting on the sheath) - Persia/current Iran, with some features of Afghanistan (sheath toe).

Looks like a "Frankenstein" to me. Assembled from unrelated parts. Cool sword though. My guess is, Kyber Pass.

I agree. Assembly and, I would guess, a relatively recent one. Afghani scabbard toe end of 19th - beginning of 20th century, very clumsily put, perhaps in a wrong direction. Iranian same time handle. The smooth throat looks vaguely Turkish. Scabbard looks kind of North African. Blade ... who knows where from, but reasonably old. Two red flags: is the hole in the quillon ( for the chain) freshly drilled? Looks shiny, or is it the pic? Securing the blade in the handle looks strange and unusual for the region: wood shims?

The blade and hilt look Turkish, circa 1450-1550.

the piece of wood you see is a piece of Javier that broke when I led the two holes, they are not pierced recently!

Hullo everybody!

The above sword looks to me like an 'el cheapo' version of 18thC/19thC Kilij made on the island of Java. Those I've seen were jewel-encrusted, gold-inlaid etc. I know of one that resides in a museum in the Netherlands ( in Delft, I think ). But then, I could be totally off the mark!

Not my field but here are my two cents. The hole looks shiny but the attachment of the chain to the pommel looks rather good and original to me. The attachment of the chain to the quillon is done with a different chain wich doesn't belong to the chain.

The scabbard toe end is in my opinion in the wrong direction. I agree with Ariel. On the other hand, if you look not to close it could be a nice wall hanger.
