Default 19th Century Roumanian miner's pickaxe

Hello, again.
I know, it is not a weapon, but a simple tool...Which could become a weapon anytime.
It comes from South-West Roumania, from a mining region. Hand made by a village smith, I presume, old and used.

bye

Looks like a "froe" to me. A tool used to make cedar shakes (shingles). Held in one hand, and drived down through the block of wood, with a mallet. Note the "mushrooming" on the spine of the blade.

Hello and thanks for the feedback. Yes, it could be such a tool, I guess - I see the resemblance with other objects (internet pictures). It lookes very much like an old miner's tool as well, thus the confusion. Never thought of it this way, as here people use rather a scraper for schingles. I must reconsider this, thanks again.

Latest news say that the tool could come from a croatian village in S-W Roumania, a mountain village where the houses used to be built from wood - well, what else? Thus for, I guess the title of this thread should be changed to ”Old carpenter's tool, from SW Roumania”.

thank you!
