Just received this today and would like some comment please.
Not cleaned yet of some rust on blade, and some minor corrosion in places on the silver. Nothing too serious though I am pleased to say, and in my humble opinion a very nice piece. Regards Stu |

Nice but it looks Omani to me.

Very nice piece Stu. Congrats! My vote is for Oman as well. Here is a picture of mine with Al-Bu-Said hilt.

Yes, this is an Omani Janbiya but its not uncommon to find in different Gulf countries.

Thanks for comments. The hilt style does not seem right to me for Omani. There are Jambiya shown in Weapons of the Islamic World published by the King Faisal Center in Riyadh, describing this style as DOOJANIYAN, and being contemporary to Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia.
What think you Gentlemen? |

Don't know about that but I like the silver work on it. Very nice and old enough not to be recent if it is true silver based on the patina. If it is white metal instead, then the patina would suggest either way. Get it tested by a jeweler.
