An old blade, quite thick and stiff, with a fuller which is forged rather than ground and has seen a great deal of sharpening and wear.
Only 24" so shortened at some time and, unusually for a kaskara, reinforced (beneath the langets) on each side with riveted strips which go into the hilt - a new tang, perhaps? The scabbard, even down to its aluminium chape, is very similar to: http://www.vikingsword.com/ethsword/...a/plastic.html Your comments, as always, are most welcome... Nice one! It needs a good cleaning though.

The one I posted from this thread;
http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=11336 fits the child category. It does not show signs of having been shortened, it appears to have been made this way. |
