Laz Shashka?
Check this one out:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330324354297 The leather wrapping of the handle and the blade decorations ( dots) look just like Laz Bicagi. Anyone saw something similar? |

An unusual composite to be sure!! The pommel type, while resembling the basic shashka shape, is reminiscent of some of the Transcaucasian weapons included with the group referenced in Zichy (Budapest, 1897), and included the ' Balck Sea yataghan now properly identified as Laz bichagi.
The blade, which seems off center, seems that it may be a tulwar blade, and the dotted configurations seem like they may be associated to markings from the Bikaner arsenal in Rajasthan. All best regards, Jim |
