Default Monster bar shot captured

I "captured" this bar shot at an antique gun show yesterday. It is huge and weighs about 30 lbs. Since it is no longer available from the dealer's site, there should be no problem linking it here, hopefully, as it has more and better pix than I have.

The equivalent to a 24 pounder ? enough to rip the masts of a carrack.
Congrats on this capture; i envy you .

Thanks Fernando, I should have mentioned that this round was designed for a 32-pounder gun. I did some research and during the American Revolution 1775-1781, an earthenwork, star-shaped fort "Fort Washington" existed on Morris Heights, New York City, origin of this recovery. The fort had four 32-pounder cannon facing the water, hoping to sink or disable any British ships attempting to pass the fort. On the opposite side of the river was Fort Lee, completing the defensive barrier to British shipping. Unfortunately Fort Washington was captured by the British (and Hessians) during a land battle.

Hi John,

Let me too join the queue of congratulaters!

Did my fading eyes see the right price? 16th-17th (!) c. chain shot usually fetch between 600 and 1,000 euro ...

Best,
Michael

Hi John,
The link you posted doesn't respond any more.
Will you post some pictures of this toy ... when you can ... even if they are not bright
... So that the thread doesn't become a crippled one

Yeah, the links is dead.

That's exactly why I have always posted all images myself and just added the links as a matter of source ...
