I used to have a keris that was extremely similar to this one. It did indeed have the exact same dress. I believe the top sheath and hilt are both black horn, yes? The metal bands were also exactly the same, same motifs and some kind of white metal, but not actually silver. It had a very similar 3 luk blade with pamor and of similar size but not particular well crafted just like this one. I always had the impression that it was not a serious keris and was probably made for market sales. I gave it to a friend of mine in the neighborhood so perhaps i can borrow it and take some quick shots just to show you how similar it is. Might take a few days or so though.

I'm with David - looks like a fairly recent effort; not convincing craftsmanship. I've seen much worse blades though... Maybe a dress piece?

The hilt seems to be made from 2 pieces, isn't it?

Regards,
Kai

I believe the one i had was, but i'd have to see it again to be sure. I am fairly certain that mine came from the same workshop.

Thanks for all reactions. The hill seems indeed of two pieces. Indeed Black horn. This keris came form a dutch collection. Does anyone have an idea what Pamor type ?
