Very nice picit kebo lajer. For some reason i am very strongly drawn to this type of keris. Perhaps it all the strong talismanic elements. I especially like this one. Nicely done. Would love to see it in good stain. It looks like the hair was used to keep the hilt tight on the pesi. Am i correct?
I am not convinced that we can be sure about "original" fittings. They certainly seem to have age and the wrongko seems to have been made for the blade, but this isn't necessarily the first dress this blade has seen...or it might well be, but i don't think we can ever be sure.

Hi David,

The same here I like the kebo lajer form very much and this one to me seems to be very nice and in good condition. Why would you restain this one. It seems to be quite ok to me as it is.

Regards, Erik

Is it probably gonjo iras? For me an interesting detail is the small ring-shaped figure on the gonjo. The sorsoran looks reshaped in some places.

Is it a proper dress for a talismanic keris? Is it acceptable for shorter Central Java blades to have a normal size sarung?

Hi,
First, I didn’t plan to remove de ukiran. The keris is in the Netherlands for 70 years and nobody has removed anything.
But I removed the handle today. It looks like an old pesi with human hair and this has almost become to dust.

Hi,
A lovely keris, congratulations..
This keris have a separate ganja (not ganja iras).. the pamor does not flow continuously from the blade to the ganja..

The layering technique of the 'kul buntet' inlay looks more like a 'batu lapak' form, rather that the swirls of a kul buntet form..

Actually, we can't call this either kul buntet or batu lapak, it is simply pamor tambal, and my guess is that it has been done well after the time of completion of the blade.

I had the same question. It looks like there is a miniature kul buntet there as well?
