small kriss-pedang dagger
Hello dear members,
I'd like please your advice and opinion about this dagger, It looks like a pedang lurus but here it's more a small dagger ( 15 inches long with scabbard ) The hilt seems made of better quality ( and older ?)than the scabbard, I find the ornaments on the scabbard made in a '' mechanical'' way, not silver I think, seems too stiff The blade is interesting : large and thick, lamination on the blade reminds me some kriss blades so I wanted to show it to you... |

I am definitely a novice in what concerns Indonesian weapons, but to my novice eyes, this looks like a repurposed spear tip with a pedang hilt.

Hello,
Thank you Jean and Marius for your messages, the tombak is the javanese name for a spear head, am I right ? any idea about age of the spear head ? Do they blacksmiths forge it with the same steel/pamor than for kriss blades ? |

Like Jean already said, it's not a keris and need to moved to the other discussion forum.
