Opinions please? Sajen kudi / Keris Barong / Bugis keris
I have been collecting krisses for the last few years.
Recently I got a nice buy, three very interesting items at once. Would like to hear your opinions about age and more if possible. They come from an old collection (where they obviously where not kept well) but they came to the Netherlands before 1940.... Sajen Kudi? Not my field so would like to hear more Keris Singa Barong (interesting mendak/selut?) that might be madjipahit period? Bugis Keris, rather small with an (marine?) ivory handle with obvious damage but very nice nevertheless. |

Thanks Kai
Very interesting website which I did not know yet.
Very nice. Indeed maybe not Bugis but Sumatran. In both cases it is quite small which makes Sumatra a bit more likely I guess. Thanks, Erik Quote:

It's both Sumatran and Bugis. The hilt form is another indicator of Sumatran (Riau) origin.

Thanks for the comment BluErf.
So you would say it is Sumatran (Riau) of origin but with strong Bugis influence? Erik Quote:
