Default Manton Target Pistol

Hi all, I recently did a big trade with an advanced collector and part of the trade was a single target or dueling pistol by Manton. I understand that Manton is a premiere maker but that's all I know. Which Manton is this? I have not taken this pistol apart as I feel if anything is to be done it must be done by a professional. The barrel is not rifled, calibre is 1.4 cm. and there is no rear sight. I have no plans to fire it, just enjoy it as a fine pistol.

Excelent pistol. The way Manton's name is inlaid on the barrel and engraved on the lockplate, may be seen out there in pistols attributed to elder brother John.

I have noticed that Joseph Manton usually signed his work with his full name, which would suggest that this pistol (a beauty, by the way) is by John Manton, as Fernando reckons. But this is not a guarantee! Well done. Both brothers were supreme masters of their trade.
