How to wear a Kaskara?
I just got in this kaskara and was impressed with how complex the harness is; there is both a broad and thin strap of about equals length and two pairs of braided cord coming out of the main strap. I know these were worn on the back. Does anyone have a picture of how these straps and cords were arranged?

There were worn under the shoulder, not on the back, with the hilt "going out" of your arm pit. |

Belt and braces?
Thanks. Good pictures. These appear to show pretty simple loops though not the complex set of straps on my example.

That's normal, your straps are just for decoration, droping down. Like the West African Mandingo swords... Even the Persian Qaddara have the same stuff. Best |

straps
I find I can loop the thinner strap over my neck and the thicker one around my left arm to the shoulder and this holds the scabbard in place for hilt to be in position under my left arm as seen in illustrations provided.

Here's a shot of a sword as it is carried on a camel. 1985.
