Ideas on this blade
I bought just this blade on a market. I Dont know its origine.
Its abbout 60 cm long. Got no stamps or markings. Forged, but no mixed material (pamor) ...any idea ?? |

I do not know much about these things, could it be sword bayonet that has lost the handle. The tang is rather short? made that way for the rifle fitting?

Looks like an old European falchion/messer, probably c19, likely military. So jealous; so very very jealous. Things to expect/look for A/spring temper (expect) B/ folded steel (look for). Gotta go!

Looks Indonesian to me. Maybe some form of large golok or parang?

I 'll stick to Lew, cause i am a collector of indonesian edged weapons. whether its right or not. Whasn't it the old Romans who said: The world wants to be fooled,.... so let it be fooled ! I will look for a suitible Indonesian handle and pretend it comes from there. gr Martin |
