Interesting 'sword and 2 daggers'..just finished (eBay) comments?
Auction just finished on eBay .....missed it by a few pounds .
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=130041560393 The sword looks to be North African and with...quite possibly ...a Euro blade... 655mm overall length, widest part of handle is 115mm, the length of the blade is 530mm. Width of blade is 25mm widest point tapered to a point, thickness is 4mm. The SEA dagger, not certain as to source.... Indonesian?.... Overall 330mm, the blade length is 230mm, widest point is 20mm, thickness is 7mm tapers into 1mm. The smallest dagger looked to be one of those cheap tourist daggers from India, the type with a wooden sheath/hilt with a locking 'clip'. Any ideas as to age? etc...Was I lucky not to win??.....I think it was a good 'lot' and feel I should have bid more.... Comments ...as usual....gratefully received...thankyou |

The lower dagger looks to me to be a Tumbuk Lada but it may be a sewar. I get confused on those two. I think the scabbard on a sewar is different, Someone here will certainly know

Thanks Lew....it looked familiar ..but I could not place it...is it a good example? Do you think the buyer got a bargain? Am I a fool for not bidding more? |

You missed out on some nice pieces but you win some you lose some. Something else always ends up coming along I have kicked myself on many occasions Lew |
