Default russian forged wootz

Here is a rare example of Russian forged wootz. The spine is etched in cyrillic "Zlatoust year 1842". This is right in the middle of the Anosov years of bulat production. The pattern is very fine, like the hada of a Japanese sword, but when you have a good close look, you can clearly see the pattern which I luckily was able to photograph. The pattern is active and consistent throughout the blade. By anyones standard, a good piece of steel!

Fantastic blade!
I think this is the first one I have seen in all the years. Can you show the entire blade and the "trimmings"?

RSWORD,

Many thanks for showing us this blade. Any idea of its hardness near the edge? A bit of very judicious filing could tell us a lot...

Cheers
Chris
