Default Need help in identifying this wooden club

Does anyone know what this is?
Is it used for sports?
Leather wrapped handle.

The leather reminds me of North or West African leather.

Tim, this club came along with swords and daggers from Sudan. You might be on to something.

I have one of very similar shape I bought in southern Kenya off a Massai farmer in the field in 1990's. it has no binding on the handle but shape is very similar
I will take some pictures this evening as time allows.

The “priest’s” that I have seen are shorter that the one above however I’ve only encountered ones from Washington State and Canadian Pacific Northwest.
