Pamor ron kenduru/genduru?
Hi All,
I have been reading a few articles in the forum and I am guessing that this might be a Madura keris with Pamor ron kenduru/genduru. Am I even close? Regards. |

Welcome to the forum, Omar!
Madura sounds like a good starting point to me for both scabbard and blade... Regards, Kai |

Yes, Madura or possibly somewhere else in East Jawa, like maybe Malang or between Malang & Surabaya.
That's the blade, the wrongko could come from a number of places, but all probably within East Jawa, the pendok is Madura. In East Jawa we would call this pamor Bulu Ayam --- chicken feathers, the blade is recent, probably after about the mid-1980's. Hilt is broadly Solo planar style. |

I second what Alan stated, but will add that it is a very attractive and nicely made example IMO. I'd love to see it cleaned up a bit.

Hi,
Will this be another Madura keris with a Ron Pamor too? Cheers. |

Yes Omar, this would be another Keris Madura with a similar pamor. The difference would be that this would be an older example, probably dating back to the 19th century. This example also has a lovely ivory donoriko hilt in very nice condition and an old Madura style mendhak. I would suggest hitting that mendhak with a polishing cloth as i believe you may find that it is tarnished silver and it should should polish up nicely. The wrongko is also a lovely carving. Over all, a very nice keris.
In general i might suggest that you begin to make separate threads for each new keris you present, though in this case the obvious similarities might make a single thread make sense. |
