Default Old Dao - trick or treat?

Supposedly old niuweidao...

proportions are normal, blade about 30" long with a large disc guard and center of balance 6.5-7" in front of the guard... Can't quite tell if it's a legitimate lower-end saber or a modern lower end fake... blade spine shows taper, edge is sharp, the feel is right, the tang is peened....

thoughts?

Everything looks old and pretty correct to me. Perhaps the wooden hilt has been shaved down a bit, but it all seems to have been made at the same time and it all looks old.
