Afghan Kamar Accessory What is It?

I got fortunate last night, no, not that kinda lucky, but, I did end up finally with a Kamar belt. The seller thought that it was North African. What is this called and how is it used? (Center w/ arrow) Thanks, Steve

I don't have it yet maybe next week. It's in the mail. Is it a knife in a sheath ?
There appears to be a stylized bird on top? Time will tell i guess. This seems to be similar but no explanation also from Tiri Fig 119. The bird like thing may be a striker for lighting fires.

Thanks, Thilo . Someone on the forum had a couple of these belts and tons of accessories for them and Jezails. The link you gave us sure looks like the same item, too bad no one was sure what it is.

I have had one of these belts for years and i have asked numerous
experts over time whose opinions i value, and not one has even a clue as
to what this could be. when i first got the belt i thought it was a knife in
it's scabbard. Naturally i tried to pull it out, but of course nothing happened.
I hope someone on the forum can figure it out........Dave.

The belt came in today, the device we thought might be a knife is horn encased in brass??? There's an emblem or belt buckle with two metal items that maybe
flint fire strikers, they're tiny 2 1/2 inches long. Are they strikers?

Finally another mystery item, Seller said it was a game bird holder, don't think so. It's all horn with a horn spring devise to self close a small spout. horn is hollow.
What did it dispense? If that's the function. Help, more pictures soon after a dusty.

It's a primer horn.

Thank you, Dennee Unlike priming flasks, covering the end with a finger would
allow for a measured charge. One mystery to go. In the past month I got rid of a knapping tool and priming flask, they would definitely feel at home on one of the remaining chains. Such is life.

This yet identified tool remains a puzzle. Could it have been used to carry
lit matchlock matches in combat? One side is perhaps tarnished by heat. It is mainly made up of horn, so wouldn't have a use as say a wrench. Does anyone know or maybe read how lit matches were carried into battle?

I wonder - could it be intended to hold the end of a lit slow-match nearest to the pan (i.e. that used for ignition) during reloading?
