Hi,
Thanks for replying. Can you tell me the time scale for this Bowie profile. I know it is after 1848 as that was when Wostenholm moved to the Washington Works on Wellington Street and this is stamped on the blade. It also says 'As designed by Col. Jim Bowie' or words to that effect. I suspect it is mid 20thC but as always I could be wrong. Thanks again.
My Regards,
Norman.

Hi Norman , I have found a very similar knife illustrated in I*XL however I would need more details from you to be sure . Does your address include 'England' in it after Sheffield ? Yours appears to have been re profiled as the illustrated knife has a blade length of nearly 11 inches. Is your guard German silver or brass ?
Let me know and I will get back to you .

Hi,
England is in the address after Sheffield on the blade. I have found a few similar Wostenholm blades on the net but no indication as to when they were manufactured. The total length of the knife is a bit over 15 inches so the blade length you mentioned would tally. I think the guard is brass. B.t.w the knife isn't mine so I'm afraid I can't give you absolutes re the specs. Thanks again for you help.
My Regards,
Norman.
