Default Persian Katar.

Just ended on e-bay.
Katar is described as the most Indian of all Indian weapons. a dagger that had never been found outside India,
Well, here is the first one:

A typical Qajar work, Persian to the core!
I think it is a pretty "touristy" one: the handle/guard is very primitive and has none of the forceful elegance of the original.
The blade.... Well, at the time of Qajars few soldiers wore mailshirts and the whole reason for carrying a mail piercing implement became quite obsolete. Importantly, look at the blade: either my eyes deceive me or it is as thin as a Ginzu knife.
But look at the price it fetched!

I saw that one and personally never really cared for it. Qajar? I think you may be right about the quality - does not look all that well made.
