Default Interesting collection just finished on eBay ...

A seller who does not usually handle edged weapons had a nice group of S. Asian and S.E. Asian edged weapons from a singe collection up for sale. The items were not well described, and in the old days may have passed largely unnoticed -- not these days however. I was pleased to pick up the last one on this list, an ivory and bone (?) hilted dha with an unusual pommel.

I think some other members of this Forum may have been bidding on these items also.

Ian

I spotted that kukri but it was not in good shape someone did a lousy job sharpening it.

What do you think about the Tibetan one?

Looked to have some age and the belt looked interesting. Not my area of interest really, so I'll defer to to others more knowledgable.

Ian, looking forward to your impression of that dha. An interesting group. The two Tibetan pieces look c.1950 to me.

I agree that the Tibetan items look late. The fittings of the short sword or dagger that Rick got are in some ways crude, but I think he got an interesting piece with that unusual suspension piece.
