LOL, Hi Graeme
Its a Canary Islands Knife, like the one I have pictured here with my Albacete knife above. Here's the thread about my virtually identical one: http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10312 regards Gene Last edited by Atlantia; 19th August 2009 at 05:08 PM. |

Hi Graeme,
Hope you don't mind me splicing them together? But I wanted to show just how similar they are! BTW: 'Nobre' is a surname, so I guess you are lucky enough to have an example where the maker is known! Can I ask, what is the exact length of yours? Mine is almost exactly 10 inches. If the Blade length is between 15cm and 18cm then you have a: 'Cuchillo de Faldriquera' Last edited by Atlantia; 19th August 2009 at 04:08 PM. |

I wonder if they are from the same town. or indeed if they might have been made by the same family as these are often made by 'family' handed down businesses? Thats an interesting Albacete knife! I like the slightly offset handle! Have we see it here before? Can you post some clearer pics? If you want a great site to browse on the subject of the Canary knives: http://translate.google.com/translat...e.google.co.uk I think that link should work, its the google translation of the Spanish page.
