Two Luzon pieces with wooden scabbards
First one has all iron fittings, and it looks like the tip has been broken or cut off. Attached is also a picture of the broken tip, straight on, if it helps. Blade over 1/4" thick at the hilt.

Just bringing this one back up top in relation to the recent post by JeffS http://www.vikingsword.com/vb/showthread.php?t=27204
These scabbards have been identified by Rafngard (Leif) as indicative of Pangasinan manufacture. Thanks to Jeff for bringing this old thread back to notice. The top sword appears to be another pangaw at, and the bottom one perhaps a matulis with broken/excised tip. |
