Visayan daga ???Comments please
I was recently bidding on a lot of daggers and was lucky enough to win 5; this is one of them. The blade measures approx. 11 1/4" and it is very substantial.Could the pommel be a stylized, modernized, modified twin bakunawa ????

First, I don't think that this nice dagger (daga) is Visayan. The peened through tang let me think that it coming from Luzon but let it to the experts from where exactly. Also the beautiful stiched leather scabbard shows that it is from Luzon. First quarter last century? But so the handle couldn't be a stylized twin Bakunawa IMHO. Niece piece!

Spanish Influenced Dagger
You have very nice piece, made by the look on Luzon, heavy Spanish influenced piece, nice hand guard made for fighting most likely late 1890s work. This was not by the look made in the Visayan Region.

If it were the double Bakunawa hilt, one would still be able to see some artistic facial remnant. I don't see it on this one.
