Sword hilt for ID
The owner told my friend this is an Islamic hilt, but something tells me this is European. I even think a similar one was already posted here.
The guy only left a picture of the hilt and a description of the blade: slightly curved, thin, single edged, length 70-80 cms ( 28 to 31"). Any ideas ... please ? . |

Anything is possible, to me however it looks European. I've only seen the up-turn and down turn quillion once on a "Islamic" (I call it that since I can't remember where exactly I saw it I think it was Persian though) sword, and it was straight blade made to immitate a European blade. But the handle was more classical middle eastern unlike this one.

Somthing like this was what I was talking about
[edited active auction] The discreption is totally wrong. The seller is selling a safawid era sword as a qajar era sword and calling it an assadullah sword wongfully aswell. Last edited by Rick; 14th August 2012 at 06:41 PM. |
