Stirrups for identification and comment
Hello everyone,
I have had this pair of Steel Stirrups for a good many years and thought it was about time I found out something about them. I have tried to find out using the internet without success hence this post. They seem very well made and are nicely decorated and polished. My own feeling is that they are Indian on account of the two Peacocks cast either side of the swivel but I am not really sure. I would be grateful if anyone could confirm or otherwise. Thanking you in advance, Regards Miguel |

Persian or Indian would be my best guess - but only a guess, mind you.
Handsome stirrups, whatever the origin |

They're Indian. Likely Rajasthan, 1st half of the 19th century.
Nice pair |
