Spearhead for comments
Hello,
I have bought this spearhead, I thought its Indian judging by the quality but could be north African? Once cleaned, some script appeared on the socket. |

A nice Indian spear. It appears to have Bikaner armory markings. Probably dates to 17th-late 18th C. or so.

Strange - the head of this spear does look exactly like the tip of an older East African (Masai etc) spear ?

These are supposedly Arabian spears. So I guess it is Arabian... now the script... could be Arabic but I am not being able to read it? Its currently in Qatar and should be sent to me later on.

I have this Arab gun, which has inscriptions of similar style / language?
Perhaps it could help pin-point your spear? Regards Runjeet |

Not to derail the thread, but the last spear on the right in the book image looks very much like a form common on Somalia.
