Barong with pearls by Lubian
Hi everyone,
I have another barong from the shop of Manong Jimmy Lubian. This one is an early restoration work (mid-1970s) An old blade that was given a then evolving restoration work. Features: - Thick and heavy laminated blade. 17 inches long blade. 23 inches overall. - 14 pieces cultured pearls on the scabbard. - MOP on the scabbard's mouth with an early Lubian design ukkil. - MOP on the toe of the scabbard with similar ukkil. - Banati hilt with thin stainless steel wire wrap and alloy ferrule. Asking price is $200 plus $36 shipping. Another Barong by Lubian
Here is another Lubian barong.
This one is of recent make. Features: - over 15 inches long blade. about 21 inches overall. - Detailed and distinctive Lubian ukkil on the MOP inlays. - Tindalo hardwood hilt with white brass ferrule. Price is $160 plus $36 shipping. I'm a little confused. How can you be offerring these barongs outright to forumites in this swap forum when you are currently auctioning them on ebay?

i posted these on the forum last dec. 4 and since i didn't get any response here. i posted them on ebay yesterday, december 12. no intention to sow confusion. i did the same on an earlier barong by lubian. posted it here and no response but was able to get a bid when i posted it later on on ebay. and thanks for the links. carlo |
