Balinese Kris???
This was up at auction down her in Florida… unfortunately I was not the winner, but was hoping maybe one of our other members were. I would love to see better pics of the piece cleaned up as it definitely has a core that might be impressive. As for the Balinese part… we’ll that was from the auction listing. It looks Malay from what I can see. Enjoy and post if one of you lucky members got this piece!!

It looks 100% Moro to me, not Malay. In fairly rough shape, but restorable for someone willing to put a little work i into it. If you were hoping for what is often referred to as a "twisted core" i seriously doubt you will see one on this kris, but it might have an interesting pattern once it is cleaned up and etched. It's not a bad kris, but it remains to be seen if it might be impressive.

I agree with David. In fact, I'd say Maguindanao tribe on Mindanao Island - Philippines and from the late 19c.
