Brazilian Faca de Ponta?

Hi gents,
Can you please help me to identify this knife? Is it Brazilian Faca de Ponta or Genovese Coltello, or Spanish Punal?

I'm not very knowledgeable in this field. But i do know that i like this one.

I would say Spanish or Italian. Just my guess.

Hello Alex,

I would vote for Faca de Ponta. It seems to be very old, mid 19th century?

Handle, blade shape point to Brazil but frankly said it would be the first I see with pierced blade. Therefore my age guess.

Thanks! I vote for Faca de Ponta as well, but like you said, the pierced blades not typical for Brazilian knifes. So, there is a chance that it was made in Europe for Brazilian market.

Yes, when you read older threads there was always a discussion South America versus Mediterraean orgin by very old knives. Naturally!
There is also the chance that it is Brazilian dagger from an other region.
We have members who will be able to tell more, hope they join in.
