Here is another mark.
These marks are found on Martini Carbines that are shorter than the conventional Carbine and normally only found in the area that use to be known as the Trucial States. These rifles are usually heavily decorated with brass bands and inlay work typical of the area. These rifles are also normally found with the stocks reshaped in long slender pattern as seen in old precussion guns from the This makes the these two rifle very unusal. These rifles often refererred to as Muscat Martini's and are of very good quality and not to be confused with the crudlely made Martini's from the "Khyber Pass". I am hoping that identifying these marks will give some clue as to the their true origin. Any help is greatfully appreciated. |
