[QUOTE=Zan]Hi everybody,
Any comment (serious or not...) about this sword ? Oh now I am very upset that I missed such a bargain The scabbard is nicer than the sword. Notice the buyer only has two feedbacks he must be a newbie I will sell him all my African stuff and retire Lew |

Looks like a really fantastic Yoruba scabbard. I am doubtfull that the knife is original to the scabbard. Two very interesting incomplete items brought together to make something twice as bad, something like that what a shame .

What a mess, no regards to the athestics of size ratio, the scabbard is obviously massive and not original to the sword, the blade does't 'fit' with the 'small' hilt.
I can understand the 'mine's bigger than yours' syndrome but this 'ensemble' does not shout 'Chief' .....perhaps.....'mug' with a capital M Just noticed 8 bids by the same person, reserve not met, because no one else bid ...his bids remained at the start price......lucky escape or something more sinister....... |
