Default Possible trip to Syria

Dear friends,
I have the possibility for a short 4 day trip to Syria towards the end of the month. I still havent decided if i will go, and to know if it is worth going apart for the sightseeing, does anybody know how is the situation regarding antique edged weapons?
Are there any real smiths currently working?
Can you find edged weapons on the local market, and how are their prices?
If i buy something can i export it?
I would be gratefull for info from someone who made the trip or knows about that.
Regards!

you can find shamshirs yataghans and daggers. good samples are over average. for shamshir no chance at all, would be too high. you perhaps find some yatagans , as yatagans are pure Turkish, Arab collectors are interested in sabers and local daggers more, but still very little chance for good ones. and you can't take them out freely.
