Trabzon Surmene... And a very nice one! These knives had the most intricate system of fullers. The handle looks particularly nice and the suspension belt is a rarity. And look at the weave of leather straps at the top of the scabbard: doesn't it look just like Laz Bicagi? Lew, I was always very happy about you limiting yourself to African stuff ( because I do not collect them); why did you decide to cross the border? Looking for a fight, infidel invader? Well, on the other hand, I am glad you finally saw the light! Enjoy! |

It is much longer than the typical Trabzon but there is no question for the origin. Enjoy it

Hi Lew, Nice dagger, I've developed a bit of a soft spot for these pieces, I really like the method used of attaching the strap to the sheath on your example. Regards, Norman. |
