I highly doubt it is Moro as well.

Will let you know when I get it! Sure is not Moro. Looks South Indian. Have seen something similar from Malabar.

I think that the offset handle and the wider blade at the distal end would make the balance 'top heavy' like an axe..so I think this unlikely to be used as a 'sword'.....definately a 'chopper'.....with the angle of the hilt set in such a way that a downward strike being the most favourable technique.

A very nice object....and ..I feel....bought at a bargain price

More Malabar, than an Adya Katti, but you know, the line between the two types is thin...

I've bid on that as well (in fact I've thought thatone to be a sleeper), but got slightly overbid...
