I have a Kurdish Jambiya that is embellished with buttons that appear to be made out old Islamic silver coins. One is missing. I have a smith who could help me make a replacement if I can find a suitable coin (about 18 mm in diameter).
Any help/suggestions? Thanks, Marcus |

It may be difficult to find a coin, but could you not take a cast of one of the others and use that one?

Take the dagger to any of the myriad coin dealers in your area . Most likely an astute dealer will be able to recognise or find the same coin in a catalog .
Purchase said coin , take to jeweler , problem solved . ![]() Let's see the entire dagger . |

Lovely !
Nice Rhino horn hilt . You could also try an ebay search for silver islamic coin ; it might turn up a suitable candidate for replacement . |
