Default A Borneo container?

Hello guys, last week I picked up this container from ebay and I believe it is Borneo, as the weaving reminds me much of those woven mandau-handles. Seemed to be a good old authentic thing to me. Length; 4.5" or 11.3cm.
Most I've seen of these are just bamboo with etched and blackened surface scroll-motives; IF this was used for the same as those etched ones.
Perhaps anyone of you know what this example was used for and from what area of Borneo??

All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Wouter

What a coincedence; just found a container with similar weaving on an auctionsite. The spoon is said to be Paiwan and the container from the Philippines (??!!??).
Though would still like to know if anyone reckognizes it as such as I have seen some originmistakes made before on auctionsites, esp. concerning these smaller 'insignificant'items like these.
