Selangor Malay Keris Festival 2010

Persatuan Purba Nusantara Selangor (PURBA Selangor) with the cooperation from Perbadanan Adat Selangor (PADAT) and Jabatan Kebudayaan Negara will be organising a Malay Keris Festival.

Programme

1) Exhibition and Sale Booth (keris for sale), 13-19 December 2010
2) Seminar and Forum, 18 December 2010
3) Antique Keris Competition, 19 December 2010

--- (( Exhibition and Sale Booth )) ---

The exhibition and sale booths selling keris and related items, will be open to the general public. For each booth/table, a minimal cost of RM450 applies, based on a 'first come, first serve' basis. Interested parties, please contact Mr Ab.Majid Bujang, via contact number below.

--- (( Seminar and Forum )) ---

The expected speakers whom will be presenting their papers in the seminar and forum.
a. The honourable Bapak Tenas Effendy from APM, Universiti Malaya (UM) / Yayasan Tenas Effendy, Riau, Indonesia
b. Mr Ab.Majid Bujang (Purba Selangor)
c. Prof. Dr Wan Abdul Kadir, APM/UM

e. Prof Dr Abdullah Zakaria, History Dept, UM

Attendance is free. The medium for the seminar and forum will be in Malay.

--- (( Antique Keris Competition )) ---

Three Categories:
a. Pandai Saras, with and without pamor
b. Bugis, straight and luk pieces
c. Alang, with or wothout pamor

Entry fees for the competition is RM20, per piece. There is no limit to the number of keris entries per person.

Organisations and individuals are invited to join in.
