Default Hi

Hi and welcome.

This appears to me to be a Lombok Klewang found between Lombok Island and the east coast of Java.
One of those swords that remain somewhat of a mystery to myself and many others here.
I say in my limited knowledge of these items, Lombok because of the parrot head/beak/crest appearance to the hilt in profile. To my eye the Sumatran examples appear more or less a lizard or Makara in profile. The blade profile too is indicative of the regions.
It would look much nicer with a clean and polish of the hilt and a good clean/scrub of the blade along with an etch.

I'm just worried about the loose metal on the handle - would you glue it? Epoxy?
