Indonesian Jambiya
Hi again,
Just received this new jambiya made in Indonesia. I'm really impressed with this cross-culture style: arabian form of the blade and indonesian fittings   And the blade has also pamor just like indonesian kerises The handle remind me of my other dagger

The fittings look fairly recent to me (even given the cracks at the hilt). Not sure that the blade is much older either; I'd guess current production or from the last few decades.
I'm especially wondering about the placement of the rib: in Indonesian blades this is usually found along the center of the blade and less pronounced than in the Arab progenitor. Regards, Kai |
