saw this advertised as an unknown knife, possibly indian.
![]() as i already have one of the larger ones, i knew it was from the cocos (keeling) islands (which are in the indian ocean SW of malaysia/indonesia) & that it wanted to come live with me and it's sibling. here is the reunited family: ![]() ![]() the german cruiser 'Emden' was fatally damaged nearby in WWI and was beached on the Cocos. rumour is that these knives are all made from steel salvaged from her hull armour plate. they all have the distinctive scabbard and blade shape, tho size varies. the small one here has a 4.75 in. blade, 3.75 in. grip; the larger one has a 9 in. blade & 4.25 in. grip. i'm sure there are others in the family still to be discovered ![]() |
