I've won a German auction for a club and a pedant, the pedant is in my humble opinion from the Asmat people and I guess that the club is from West New Guinea or Papua New Guinea but I am unsure. Any informed guesses from you?

It looks rather short and light in weight. It might be a sago stirrer / paddle.

It's 117 cm (approx. 46 inch) long. And I think that I know this sort of wood, I own a spear from the Abelam people with the same wood, I think it's palm wood. I don't think it's a sago stirrer. Regards, Detlef |

Thank you Tim!
![]() Frankly said, you was my great hope to identify it! ![]() My old friend Ulrich Kortmann, who would have been able to identify it, is deceased last year. Sadly and too early! Regards, Detlef |

Here are three that I have from the same part of the world but different locations. I had more but some went to auction some years back. The longest one with the spike is 138cm long.
