I just acquired this Panabas and it is an interesting variation; can anyone furnish more information on this item?

Possibly, but based on the tightness of the blade, the fit, the way the brass shims are set, and the corrosion pattern of the blade at the top of the handle where they intersect, it has been together in this configuration for many years.

Unusual blade and handle. It’s a beauty. I was wondering at what age would you say this Panabas is at.
Thanks for sharing. |

Thanks, Kino.........you were one of the people who I was hoping would answer that question for me, LOL. If I had to guess, it would be 1890 to 1920 certainly pre WW2, however, as evidenced by my previous posts, I have been wrong more than a few times before.
