Can someone help me translate the words on this musket? I have seen other similar with dates under the lock. I have no idea in what language this is written so i probably photographed it upside down.

Hi Drabant.
I can't help with the translation, but that is sure a nice looking Algerian long gun. First one I've seen with those two side plates with inscription. Very nice! Hope someone will be able to help with the translations. It appears you may have two signatures on the lower part of the lock. (?) Would be interesting to know. Again, very nice piece. I would say anywhere from the first through the third quarters of the 19th Century. Have you ever thought about replacing the three missing pink coral stones?
